On 7-8 September 2009 the international Institute for Central Asian Studies in cooperation with the Embassy of France in the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Institute of History Academy of Science of the Republic of Uzbekistan, what is ed held an International Scientific Conference on “Civilizations and cultures of Central Asia in unity and diversity”, Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
Participating at the forum scholars and experts from Azerbaijan, Great Britain, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, USA, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, France and Uzbekistan.
More than 55 reports was made on four sections:
1. Interaction between nomadic and sedentary cultures in history of Central Asia;
2. Central Asia in antiquity and early middle ages: origin and development of cultural interactions;
3. Spiritual culture and art of peoples and Central Asia: commodity and difference;
4. Ethnic and regional cultures in Central Asia in pre-modern and modern periods: traditions and innovations.
