SECOND MEETING OF EXPERTS IN PREPARATION OF A NOMINATION DOCUMENT FOR THE ‘PENJIKENT-SAMARKAND-MERV’ CORRIDOR AS PART OF THE SERIAL TRANSNATIONAL NOMINATION OF THE SILK ROAD FOR THE LIST OF THE UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE

On 12-13 November 2012, cheap the second meeting of international experts in preparation of a nomination document for the ‘Penjikent-Samarkand-Merv’ corridor was held in Samarkand, information pills Uzbekistan, on the initiative of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies. Experts  from Uzbekistan, Tadjilistan, as well as experts in culture from the UNESCO office in Uzbekistan, the UNESCO regional expert (Kazakhstan), and the representative of BELSPO (Belgium) participated in the meeting. The accomplishment of the Plan of actions for the preparation of a single document for the ‘Penjikent-Samarkand-Merv’ corridor as part of the serial transnational nomination ‘The Silk Road’ in a memorandum on collaboration issued on 14-15 June 2012 was discussed in the course of the meeting. According to the agreement achieved, the participating countries must submit the final version of the nomination document to the UNESCO World Heritage Centre by 1 February 2013.
