A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) and the Research Institute of Cultural Properties of Teikyo University represented by Prof. Mitsuo Hagihara.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) and the Research Institute of Cultural Properties of Teikyo University represented by Prof. Mitsuo Hagihara.

The scope of cooperation under the MoU includes mutual visits of faculty members, their participation in seminars, workshops and other events. Both institutions are expected to set up and promote cooperation in the field of conservation and management of cultural heritage, share academic data, publications and information. Prospective joint research projects carried out on a collaborative basis are expected to ensure dissemination of the state-of-the-art knowledge in the field of science and culture.

Signing of the MoU was largely inspired and supported by Prof. Kazuya Yamauchi, a well-known archaeologist, who was involved in a number of research project in the region of Central Asia and always promoted international scientific cooperation.

The MoU has become the first step in building a long-term and fruitful cooperation between the institutions aimed to strengthen the international cooperation and explore further research opportunities.
