Meeting with the delegation of the Association of Museums of Almaty

On April 28, the delegation of the Association
of Museums of Almaty, namely Ms. Lyazzat Sagyndykova, Director, as well as Mr. Erkin
Kudaibergen and Mr. Ernat Yskaq, who is also the head of the Tlendiev Memorial
Museum were hosted by the Secretariat of the International Institute for
Central Asian Studies (IICAS). The association of museums comprises 7 museums: The
Museum of Almaty, the Museum of Folk Musical Instruments named after Ykhlas,
the Museum of D.A. Kunaev, Tlendiev Memorial Museum, The Literary and Memorial
Museum Complex of S. Mukanov and G. Musrepov, Multimedia Center of Traditional
Music, Memorial Museum Complex of Raiymbek Batyr.
The staff of the Secretariat informed the
guests of the areas of work of the institute, its history, and projects. The
parties discussed possible prospects for cooperation in the field of
preservation and promotion of the historical and cultural heritage of
Kazakhstan.
Following the meeting, on April 29, 2023, a
memorandum of understanding was signed between IICAS and the Association of
Museums of Almaty.
