On 05 October 2023, Prof. Charles Melville, Emeritus Professor of Persian History, Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, the University of Cambridge and President of the British Institute of Persian Studies, and Dr. Firuza I. Melville, Director of Research of the Cambridge Center for Persian Studies, Pembroke College, University of Cambridge were warmly hosted in the headquarters of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS).

This was an excellent opportunity to present the background of IICAS and the scope of research carried out since 1995. In response, Prof. Charles Melville and Dr. Firuza Melville offered an overview of the prior and ongoing projects both in Central Asia and beyond. As a result, an agreement was reached to intensify the exchange of data and search for potential areas of academic collaboration. 

The visitors were offered a short guided tour around the office and a brief presentation of the earlier and most recent publication of the Institute.
