On February 24, 2024, a delegation from Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA), headed by President of TİKA Mr. Serkan Kayalar, visited International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) headquarters in Samarkand.

TİKA was established in 1992 to coordinate the official development assistance programs of Republic of Türkiye and opened its first program coordination offices abroad in Central Asian countries. Since 1992, TİKA realized thousands of grant-based development cooperation projects in different sectors like health, education, agriculture and cultural heritage in Central Asian countries.  

During the meeting, President of TİKA Mr. Serkan Kayalar was informed about the activities and projects of IICAS, and the parties discussed possible areas of cooperation.

At the end of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding has been signed by the Director of IICAS Mr. Evren Rutbil and the President of TİKA Mr. Serkan Kayalar.
