Memorandum of understanding with the Asian International University (AIU),

On 8 July
2023, a meeting was held in Samarkand between representatives of two research
organizations involved in the study of Central Asia.

Voyakin, Director of the International Institute for Central Asian Studies
(IICAS), and S. T. Babayev, Vice-Rector for International Affairs at the Asian
International University (AIU), signed a memorandum of understanding, which
provides for cooperation in the field of research and culture. A special focus
was on the preservation and promotion of the cultural heritage of the region,
including the rich history of Bukhara.
The meeting also became an opportunity to
discuss potential educational partnership between IICAS, AIU and other
universities on the IICAS platform. Soon, at the suggestion of the rector of AIU
S. S. Dekhkanov, joint events are planned at the university.
