Representative of IICAS took part in the Regional
Workshop of the project “Sustainable
Research Data Collection for ICH Safeguarding: Focusing on Central Asia”
(2022-2024) which was organized by International
Research Centre for Intangible Cultural Heritage in the Asia-Pacific Region
(IRCI, UNESCO Category 2 Centre in Japan). The workshop held in online format
on 22 February 2024. Experts from Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan and
Uzbekistan took part in the workshop with presentation of national reports. The
objectives of the workshop were: (1) sharing progress and challenges for data
collection in 2023, and (2) identification of working schedule in 2024,
including final workshop to be held at the end of the year. The results of the
project have been regularly published through IRCI Research Database (https://www.irci.jp/ichdb/). It is expected that each participating country
should submit information on 70 academic publications in the field of ICH
studies in current year (book, project
report, journal article, thesis/dissertation, proceedings of the conferences,
audio-visual materials, and others). Representative
of IICAS proposed participating countries also to collect research data on
shared with other countries ICH elements. In this regard, participants have
been informed on research activities and publications of IICAS, including its published
twice a year Bulletin.
