The launch of research activities on the project “Conservation of Khalifa Erezhep mausoleum at the site of Mizdakhkan”

The
International Institute of Central Asian Studies (IICAS) announces the launch
of research activities on the project “Conservation of Khalifa Erezhep
mausoleum at the site of Mizdakhkan”. The project was initiated with financial
support from the US Embassy in the Republic of Uzbekistan under the
Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP) program.
During the
implementation of the project, special focus will be made on studying the state
of conservation of the monument, the history of its development, as well as its
value and significance. The project implies not only the preparation of a
detailed conservation design and implementation on site, but also activities to
build the local capacity, raise awareness, involve the local community, and
promote the development of sustainable tourism at the site. The project is
scheduled to be completed by October 2024.
