The International Institute for Central Asian Studies (IICAS) is pleased to announce that a UNESCO Memory of the World International Training Workshop will be jointly organized by the Korean National Commission for UNESCO (KNCU), Cultural Heritage Administration of the Republic of Korea (CHA) and International Center for Documentary Heritage, in cooperation with the National Commission of the Republic of Uzbekistan for UNESCO and IICAS.

The Workshop’s key objective is to raise awareness of the documentary heritage and support under-represented countries to identify documentary heritage and nominate it to the MoW International Register.

It is the 14th Workshop since 2009, and the on-site workshop preceded by a series of online lectures and an online pre-workshop will be held in Tashkent on 19–22 September 2023 in the Alisher Navoi National Library.

We encourage experts and practitioners preparing nominations to the MoW International Register or intending to do so to apply. The deadline for application submission is 7 July 2023.

The working language of the workshop is English.
